Andrew McCarthy delivers a talk on on the crisis in Syria, Jihadism and the currents at work in the Arab world September 27, 2013 at Amherst College. He is a Senior Fellow for the National review Institute and for the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. He is the former Assistant U.S. Attorney who prosecuted Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman for the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. McCarthy is a contributing editor for the National Review, New Criterion, and Commentary. He has authored several books including Willful Blindness: A Memoir of the Jihad (2008), The Grand Jihad: How Islam and the Left Sabotage America (2010), and more recently Spring Fever: The Illusion of Islamic Democracy (2013).
